Assembly: Stand for Sandpaper Letters

Follow Step by Step directions below.

The Stand for sandpaper letters should look like this when you are  finished.

Unpack all parts.   Organize for easy assembly. Sort letter shelves, 2 sides and  1 bottom frame, (the top frame was left assembled to "A" shelf for your convenience), back stiffeners, and leg brace parts. Stands are preassembled at our factory

Each Letter shelf is labeled for position. "A" shelf is the top shelf.

Side frames are lettered corresponding to shelf position. Find the letter on Shelf "A" and insert into the side frame labeled "A".

Assemble stand with the back side up.  Pictured here: letter shelf "A" is inserted into the side frame.

There are 56 screws in the stand for sandpaper letters. This is not a job to be done with a screwdriver. I recommend a Dewalt Power drill. We use many different Dewalt power tools in our factory and feel they work extremely well.  If you don't already own one, now is the time to purchase.  Around a school there are hundreds of jobs this tool will make much easier. Rechargeable batteries are strong, very convenient, and worth the extra money.

The best drill  to purchase is a variable speed, adjustable clutch.  Spindle Speed is controlled by the trigger.  The adjustable clutch avoids overtightening and stripping screwholes. Since we have already preassembled the stand at the factory a low clutch setting will suffice.

Continue to insert panels to the right side.  Be sure each panel is straight and tighten screws. Attach bottom frame and tighten screws.  The left side frame is best assembled by grasping the right side frame and standing the assembly on edge, then dropping all 5 letter trays in the slot at once.  Insert screws and tighten.

With stand still face down attach back stiffeners.  As shown in the picture, the two back stiffeners are labeled at the top as well as left and right side. Attach using existing screw holes.

Back legs are marked left and right.  Note in the next picture, the screw holes should be up.  It is easiest to attach and  screw in the legs while the leg is pointing straight up.

Now attach brass leg brackets.  Be sure the bracket will fold towards the top as the leg is folded in.

Attach the leg crossbar to both legs with screws.

Extend the legs, stand up and select the best location to display your sandpaper letters.
